It shows curl doing the fetch, yes.

Again, if you REALLY has told the server to require a client certificate,
then
the server is really bad. I don't have to say that curl can't make up and
pretent to have a client cert that matches what your server should require,
no matter what.

When curl uses no client cert and the server requires one, it should reject
the SSL/TLS connections.

This is not a curl issue, this is a setup/config issue with your server.

Perhaps you should consider using another server.
