OS X Curl and PHP file upload transfer while showing transfer progress?

Hi.

How can I use OS X curl to upload a file to a PHP
script and have curl show the file transfer progress
while it's uploading?

I have read the man pages without success.

Could anyone show a working syntax example?

I can't seem to use the -# flag successfully.
