AFAICS, it is a single-byte write. It writes the value 0x1e (decimal 30) in
what still seems like a random place. I can repeat it even when I set down
NUM_HANDLES to 8.

I added some extra "walls" for my libcurl memory debug and it detects this
pretty easy. Finding the cause of it is not as easy.

I'm pretty thick with work and life these days so it'll take me a few days to
get more time to continue this search. Have to sleep now.
