Hmm - I too get the Application-Error (the instruction as 0xblahblah referenced memory at 0x00000010, the memory could not be written) under Win2k Pro (SP3) and cmd.exe.

Work fine here "curl -# url...".

With Win-XP (SP1) Home and 4NT shell. May have something to
do with your shell. Try running from anything but cmd.exe;
command.com, bash, 4DOS or 4NT.
