More info:

During a second nghttp2 configure, I noticed that 2 warnings appeared (silently).

checking for a version of Python >= '2.7'... no
configure: WARNING: this package requires Python >= '2.7'.

and

checking for xml2-config... /usr/bin/xml2-config
checking for libxml - version >= 2.7.7...
*** An old version of libxml (2.7.6) was found.
*** You need a version of libxml newer than 2.7.7. The latest version of
*** libxml is always available from ftp://ftp.xmlsoft.org.

Is there a way for cURL to use HTTP2 without installing nghttp2 ? (this task is like replacing a faucet washer and before you know it, you are tearing out the walls. ugh!!)
