No, indeed. I noticed that it fails around 2050-2150 files

The error is " Too many open files".
However, I am ensuring that I am fclose'ing every FILE* I fopen'ed.
What about libcurl?

I am very sorry. Thak was a copy-paste mistake.
It always increase the port number in each new file download.
