#if defined(__STDC__) || defined(_MSC_VER) || defined(__cplusplus) || \
  defined(__HP_aCC)

Can you please try to make it like this instead:

#if defined(__STDC__) || defined(_MSC_VER) || defined(__cplusplus) || \
  defined(__HP_aCC) || defined(__BORLANDC__)

That is, add a check for __BORLANDC__ as well.

Also, do the same fix on line 692. And please let me know if it fixes your
problem!

This doesn't fail due to make. It's the compiler that fails.
