Yes it is the case :

test 200...OK
test 201...OK
test 202...OK
test 300...OK
test 301...OK
test 302...OK
test 303...OK
test 304...OK
test 305...OK
test 306... error FAILED
test 400...OK
test 401...OK
test 402...OK
test 403...OK
93 tests out of 94 reported OK: 98%
These test cases failed: 306
5 tests were skipped due to restraints
make[1]: *** [quiet-test] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/curl-7.10/tests'
make: *** [test] Error 2

I have tried with cURL 7.10.1, same result.
I use Apache 1.3.27 and PHP 4.2.3, openssl 0.9.g, mod_ssl-2.8.12-1.3.27 and
Redhat 7.1.
Well if it is a weird problem I will perhaps change my version of Redhat.
