Just for fun :) I tried configuring curl with --disable-http. It ended up
failing to build due to link errors. If the implicit assumptions about
having HTTP are too deep to be easily fixed (most curl users are going to
want HTTP support), then the --disable-http option ought to be removed.

Otherwise, it seems to build fine on all the platforms I tried.
