Sorry I have no idea about win32 issues, please ask teh members of the
libcurl mailing list, they may know curl-library_at_lists.sourceforge.net

Hello !
I am a developper interested in open source, and my team and I are
developping a game : BanKiZ ( http://bankiz.org/index.php )
I am currently developping the WIN32 port.
I've got a problem with 2 files we've got in our project : _curl.cpp &
_curl.h
These two files are two files you have apparently re-implemented

 * This example source code introduces a c library buffered I/O interface to
 * URL reads it supports fopen(), fread(), fgets(), feof(), fclose(),
 * rewind(). Supported functions have identical prototypes to their normal c
 * lib namesakes and are preceaded by url_ .
 *
 * Using this code you can replace your program's fopen() with url_fopen()
 * and fread() with url_fread() and it become possible to read remote
streams
 * instead of (only) local files. Local files (ie those that can be directly
 * fopened) will drop back to using the underlying clib implementations
 *
 * See the main() function at the bottom that shows an app that retrives
from a
 * specified url using fgets() and fread() and saves as two output files.
 *
 * Coyright (c)2003 Simtec Electronics
 *
 * Re-implemented by Vincent Sanders <vince_at_kyllikki.org> with extensive
 * reference to original curl example code

line 133 -> 140
the programe perform a self-loop between line 120 - 156 :
(locales are :)
file 0x04c450&0
-> type CFTYPE_CURL
-> buffer 0x00000000
-> buffer_len 0
-> buffer_pos 0
-> still_rinning 1
want 1999

/****************line 120********************/
    do
    {
    FD_ZERO(&fdread);
    FD_ZERO(&fdwrite);
    FD_ZERO(&fdexcep);

    /* set a suitable timeout to fail on */
    timeout.tv_sec = 60; /* 1 minute */
    timeout.tv_usec = 0;

    /* get file descriptors from the transfers */
    curl_multi_fdset(multi_handle, &fdread, &fdwrite, &fdexcep, &maxfd);
#ifdef _WIN32
    rc = -1;
#else
    rc = select(maxfd+1, &fdread, &fdwrite, &fdexcep, &timeout);
#endif

    switch(rc) {
    case -1:
        /* select error */
        break;

    case 0:
        break;

    default:
        /* timeout or readable/writable sockets */
        /* note we *could* be more efficient and not wait for
         * CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM to clear here and check it on re-entry
         * but that gets messy */
        while(curl_multi_perform(multi_handle, &file->still_running) ==
          CURLM_CALL_MULTI_PERFORM);

        break;
    }
    } while(file->still_running && (file->buffer_pos < want));
/**************line 156********************************/

I believe it's duing to that :
*********
    case -1:
        /* select error */
        break;
*********
but I don't know what I must give inside to make it works... Moreover,
my linker can't manage to find the 'select' function if comment these
lines :
//#ifdef _WIN32
// rc = -1;
//#else
    rc = select(maxfd+1, &fdread, &fdwrite, &fdexcep, &timeout);
//#endif

... Do you have any ideas of the mean to get out of the self-loop ? (or
to protect it from wrong 'file' given... if it's duing to my 'file'
variable :/
