The status reporting script checks for "testcurl: src/curl was created fine"
to detect a fine link. It doesn't expect to get a fine output binary if
something in the build failed.

If that's not good enough, do you have any good ideas on how to detect a
good/bad build?

Why did this claim to produce a fine curl if it didn't?
