How to add value to the base URL

Hi ,
I am developing an application where I have to append the the value with
the base URL
for example if I want to send the URL as
https://mail.google.com/mail/?auth=DQAAAH/&?l=d&f=m&n=
where the base URL is : https://mail.google.com
so is there a function in curl library that I can use to add the extra
value/parameter to the base URL.?
