Has anyone successfully done a REST PUT on Amazon S3 through HTTPS? There've
been a bunch of docu about S3 libraries
doing GET through HTTPS, but I can't find any info about uploading data to
S3.

Changing the URL's scheme from "http" to https also doesn't work. I always
get this error:

SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK.
Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate
verify failed
