Just a quick reply to manifest my presence. :)

I have checked out latest curl sources and built libcurl using
CMake. Everything went smooth, and I got libcurl.so built. Did not yet
review the CMakeLists.txt files (I hope I'll have time to do a review
soon).

OS: Linux (Ubuntu 8.04.2 "hardy", 32 bit). I am going to test the
build on several different systems.

Just some minor remarks so far:
1. For some reason, all files added by Sukender have "executable"
permissions under Linux. I assume this can be fixed, but don't
remember the details (last time I used CVS was long ago).
2. The resulting library has double 'lib' suffix: liblibcurl.so.
