Honestly, if we're going this route, why don't we switch to a distributed RCS like git?

Working on the threaded resolver patch would be far less painful...

If you're slightly more hardcore than the average, you might want to download
the entire curl CVS repo with rsync, to allow faster further local operations.

The repo exists at

         rsync://curl.haxx.se/curl-cvs

An example sync command line to run when you want to catch up would be:

         rsync -rztpv --delete rsync://curl.haxx.se/curl-cvs/ curl

This is still a bit experimental so let me know if you get problems or so.

WARNING: when you sync like this, your repo will be overwritten each time you
sync so never ever try to commit anything to your local copy - if you're not
prepared to loose it at next sync.
