connection termination without getting the response

Hi All,
I am requesting http get request using the curl C API.After curl handler
initialised I am giving the whatever setoption.
My question is * I want I want to terminate the connection without getting
the response from the http server*.Is this possible in libcurl C API ?.
how I can do this ,anybody guide me.
