As I said, get curl to do the transfer you want, then use the --libcurl option.
curl will then *write the code for you*. It won't be perfect, but it will be
a good starting point. The first step is to read the voluminous documentation
available at documentation at http://curl.haxx.se/docs/ and
http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/
