Hmm for both BeOS/Haiku and OSX (using MacPorts) I used release versions, maybe it changed since then ?
7.21.5 for BeOS...
Oh, it seems configure.ac actually has it on by default in there.
Hmm I was probably confused because it didn't work on OSX without --enable-gopher, but I later found out that was because it picked the Apple-supplied one which is too old!
Fine then :)

I didn't find any public SCM, would be easier to supply patches...
