It takes a whole lot of HTML awareness. Just skipping the tags is not what most
people would like. Tables, frames and stuff needs to be taken into account.

Curl does not understand HTML and I can't see any reason why it should. Lynx
already does this kind of conversion, as well as a few other tools.
