I'm running curl 7.9.8 on AIX 4.3.3. I have a problem with
both -m and --connect-timeout not working. I'm using curl
to check that various local http servers are alive.

When connecting to a hung server with:

  curl -m 1 --connect-timeout 1 http://127.0.0.1:5114

It fails to time out until 78 seconds later.

I haven't upgraded yet as I didn't see any bugfixes for this in the
newer releases and its difficult to get new software installed due to
change control rules :-(
