As always, try LiveHTTPHeaders (or similar) to capture the complete requests
and then try to mimic that behaviour as closely as possible with PHP/CURL.

Personally I prefer using the command line curl tool for this since then I can
use --trace-ascii etc to compare with the LiveHTTPHeaders to see that my
operations are "similar enough".
