CURLOPT_OPENSOCKETFUNCTION, disconnect?

I tried using CURLOPT_OPENSOCKETFUNCTION option to fully control the sockets.
So I opened the socket by myself and saved the fd, but what happens if the libcurl is deciding to disconnect the socket? Is there any indication?
