Summary: compile problem on Itanium IA64 machines.

Hi Admin,

I've downloaded the curl-7.12.0 and I got compile error on
Itanium IA64 machine running on Redhat Advanced Server
2.1.

The make error is as follows :
make : /usr/bin/ld: mem_clr.o: @gprel relocation against
dynamic symbol cleanse_ctr

I wonder what could be the problem, even though I've tried
to use the latest version. Please assist. Thanks !

The latest version is 7.13.1

And curl _still_ builds and runs on numerous 64bit
platforms, indicating that this is a problem with your setup
rather than the curl sources.

A quick look on the download page shows numerous recent curl
packages available built for ia64. This indicates that this
is a problem with your setup rather than with curl's.
