Summary: dll error

Initial Comment:
Dowloaded latest version of curl and libeay32.dll.
Running on Windows 2000, SP4 patched to most recent
release.

Run from DOS prompt with no args, here's the error
message...

The procedure entry point ASN1_STRING_data could
not be located in the dynamic link library libeay32.dll.

Thanks for closing off the post. despite it not being resoved.
FYI I've ditched cURL... you're obviously not serious about
dealing with end user issues.

Anyone else out there trying to do stuff with remote files on
Windsow platforms, don't waste your time here... get the
Windows binaries of Unixtools ( Google Windows Unit tools ).

A neat utility called wget will do eveything you want... and
everything cURL claims to do!

Shall I take your silence as evidence that you made it work now?

I don't think I deserve you being rude and it certainly
won't inspire me to offer help. It does work for me, and it
does work for an incredibly large amount of people so I
think the resoution I set is describing the general situation.

I don't know why this happens to you. What openssl lib
version is this? Do other programs work that use it?

curl uses TWO dlls from the openssl package. You need both
installed properly.

Well I guess as long as it "works for you" there's no need to
ever fix any bugs ever again, huh?!

There's no references to other dll's here... either standard
system install or third party. What secret handshake do I
need to know to obtain this priveledged information?
Libeay32.dll is the only external library I've seen mentioned
anywhere... if there's others people might like to know.

I certainly would.

This sounds like a problem with your OpenSSL DLLs.
