Summary: curl expires quickly after connecting to an NNTP server

Initial Comment:
curl expires almost immediately after connecting via telnet to an NNTP (news) server.

If the user is speed enough he/she may or may not manage to type a few commands.

I can't repeat it against the same URL you used. I tried both 7.21.0 and
7.21.2-DEV on my Debian Linux right now.

The server closes down the connection after a while of inactivity (seems
to be 10 seconds) but that's not curl's fault.
