I have also run into the same problem. If it is a Unix server, it may be
due to different permissions on the different levels of directories. You
may have permission on the specific file but not on the intervening
directories.

Just an idea.

Ah good. In that case I am going to complain to the person running the ftp
server; a certain product distributor called Ingram Micro. I am sure they
will fix this immediately. ;)
