Oops. I'm also porting OpenSSL, and I gave its version number. I'm
porting Curl (v7.15.1).

Thanks for the tips. I'll check the link and also see what I get with
--trace-ascii.

That's not a curl version number. Someone earlier this year was
reportedly
working on a z/OS port; see

What does --trace-ascii show? Can you captures the packets to see how
far
the data gets?
