Error while using curl

Hi,
I am trying to use curl in c++ but end up getting the following error
when compiling
curl/multi.h:132: error: type specifier omitted for parameter `
ERROR_FD_SET_USED'
curl/multi.h:132: error: syntax error before `*' token
What could be wrong?
