Fixed it my self, I had a brian storm when I hit send on this one:

I've added this line on my last GET request:
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, "");

Which has stoped the seg fault!

Not sure if that is a bug or some obvious n00b mistake.
