This makes a POST.

This option is mutually exclusive with POSTing, and implies PUT.

> curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_INFILE, $file);
> curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_INFILESIZE, $return_filesize);

These two are also for PUTting (if the URL is a http one).
