...also, stupid suggestion I know, but are you absolutely sure that the PHP
version & curl version are compatible and that all the dlls are definitely
not corrupt?

Theoretically, this could be the right forum. But experience tells me that
getting help with Open Source on windows is very hard since there are hardly
any developers or people that answer, but many users who ask.

This is the case here too.

To me this sounds like a PHP bug somewhere.

The curl.exe is not used by the PHP/CURL binding. It uses libcurl, not curl.

I don't know how libcurl is provided in the binary win32 package of PHP.

(I don't do PHP and I don't use Windows.)
