Hi Pierre,

As you have stated, the issue of libcurl being able to be signal
interrupted has popped up several times. Before going deeper into 'how
this should be done' I would quite like to see someone explaining why
it is actually needed in the library and why that need can not be
satisfied using libcurl with properly set timeout values.

Please, don't take this as stop energy nor nothing similar. It is only
to get straight the possible needs, potential benefits and finally how
it should be done. But I really don't want to discuss how it should be
done until we don't have the other matters clear enough.

Would you mind elaborating on it ?

As a side note. If a patch is bigger than a few lines it is better to attach it.
