I have read most of the posts about TIMEOUT-MS and DNS issues.

One in particular seemed to indicate that replacing host names with IP addresses in URLs would resolve this issue, since no name resolution would be required:

However, in my install (PHP 5.3.8, lib-curl 7.19.7), I am still getting immediate time-outs when setting TIMEOUT-MS to less than 1000, even when using the IP address in the URL, thus, avoiding name resolution.

Any ideas?
