The curl command line tool uses these options when --cacert is set:
curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_CAINFO, cacert_ptr);
curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, TRUE);
curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, 2);
