curl-and-php
cURL easy in PHP

I am unclear if PHP's cURL supports the curl_easy functions:
curl_easy_init(), curl_easy_setopt, curl_easy_perform(), and curl_easy_cleanup().
My host has cURL version curl-7.9.5 installed with PHP Version 4.1.2. They say the easy.h file is in the curl directory but whenever I try $ch = curl_easy_init(); in my PHP script, I receive a "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: curl_easy_init() in ..." message.
I would really like to use these functions so any help would be appreciated.
