Gathering response from HTTP POST ?

Am I right in believing that if I wish to collect
data returned in the HTTP response after a POST,
this is done in the usual way via the setting of
a CURLOPT_WRITEFUNCTION callback prior to calling
the curl_easy_perform function ?
