Summary: LIBCURL does not have IPV6 feature

Initial Comment:
I have downloaded the curl binary using the curl
download wizard that is found on the curl site. I also
downloaded the openssl binaries as well. The output
from my curl -V command is listed below:

C:\curl-win32\curl-7.14.0>curl -V
curl 7.14.0 (i586-pc-mingw32msvc) libcurl/7.14.0
OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.2
Protocols: ftp gopher telnet dict ldap http file https ftps
Features: Largefile NTLM SSL SSPI libz

As you can see, the IPV6 feature is NOT listed on the
line starting with the word, Features:. Since the curl
binary I downloaded is the latest one, is there a
different, already built, curl binary package, that
contains a libcurl version that includes the IPV6
capability? I found it strange that the comment for the
curl download stated that the libcurl version that is
contained within it, MAY or MAY not have the IPV6
capability. I would have thought that whoever placed
the binary on the curl download site would know whether
this curl binary included a version of libcurl that
supports IPV6. On top of this, I used the curl download
wizard again and looked just for libcurl.
Unfortunately, I found the same strange comment about
the libcurl download. It stated that the libcurl
download MAY or MAY not have the IPV6 capability. Does
anyone have any suggestions on where I can download a
curl binary download that includes a libcurl version
that supports IPV6? Please respond to rdachows_at_us.ibm.com.

Thank you.

This is not really a curl bug. This is just the way that
particular build is made.

Take questions to a curl mailing list.

Ok I rechecked my facts and the comment about whether IPV6
capabability is included in libcurl or not is INCORRECT.
What the download site really states is that you may or may
not receive a libcurl dll as part of the curl binary
download package. Since my curl -V output from above does
show that libcurl 7.14.0 is INCLUDED with the curl package I
am using, why isn't the IPV6 feature listed on the FEATURES:
line of output from the curl -V command? Do I need to
specify a particular command line option to CURL in order to
use the IPV6 capability of the libcurl functions that are a
part of the CURL binary package I downloaded? This comment
is from rdachows_at_us.ibm.com.

Some more details on this problem are as follows:
1) I am running on a win 2003 enterprise server.
2) curl commands to IPV4 sites work just fine.
3) I get a timeout 28 error when I try to use curl to get a
page from a IPV6-enabled webserver.
4) This same IPV6-enabled webserver returns the page just
fine in my internet explorer browser.
