Category: libcurl
Group: wrong behaviour
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Priority: 5
Submitted By: Ale Vesely (alevesely)
Assigned to: Daniel Stenberg (bagder)
Summary: cannot bind to host name

Initial Comment:
If I do something like

curl_easy_setopt(curl,
CURLOPT_INTERFACE, "my.host.dom");

when performing, the library complains it cannot find
its own IP address, even after resolving it.
Passing an IP like "10.0.0.1" instead of the host name
works, (and displays it if verbose is enabled). Thus,
I set the IP as in the patch attached. It apparently
works.

output of curl -V:
curl 7.15.3 (sparc-sun-solaris2.8) libcurl/7.15.3
OpenSSL/0.9.7 zlib/1.1.3
Protocols: tftp ftp telnet dict ldap http file https
ftps
Features: IPv6 Largefile NTLM SSL libz
