This problem is already listed in docs/KNOWN_BUGS as #31, and we do of
course appreciate fixes but we need to make sure we don't break things more
by fixing it naively.

I'll close this report now and mark it 'later' just because this problem
already is tracked in the above mentioned document.

This patch will break any builds where a is located in other than /lib or
/usr/lib, i.e. any -L flags will be dropped.
