Nah, I think it does that by default anyway. That's just a remainder from my
custom build command line I've used for a long time.

It makes you build curl with a fixed path to that particular OpenSSL build,
which is mighty useful if you have another OpenSSL installed somewhere.
Perhaps for example a system wide one.

If you use a shared OpenSSL build and *don't* use that trick, you need to use
some other mechanism to make sure that you actually use your new build at
run-time and not the system one.

Another option is to make a static OpenSSL build and link curl/your app with
that.
